Environment Canada has issued a Severe thunderstorm watch for our region

The watch was issued 10:49 AM Monday morning, and includes the possibility of up to 50 mm or rainĀ  in an hour or less, and wind gusts up to 90 km/h

The report included “Very strong wind gusts can damage buildings, down trees and blow large vehicles off the road. Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors!

The Office of the Fire Marshal and Emergency Management recommends that you take cover immediately if threatening weather approaches”
