North Grenville Mayor outlines what to expect with stage three of reopening

North Grenville Mayor Nancy Peckford is outlining what residences can expect to see once stage three begins across the province.

Peckford says recreational facilities have been given a little more leeway and so one of the municipality’s ice pads will be opening two weeks earlier, at the beginning of August. She says the big news for families is play structures will be open for use as well. The municipality is asking families to monitor because things like social distancing still apply. Peckford says the play structures won’t be sanitized on a regular basis and it really is at your own risk to use them, but data has shown, for the most part, it is a safe way for families to spend time.

Peckford reminds residents that the eQuinelle splash pad is opened and staffed. She says social distancing is still important everywhere you go.

The Mayor says stage three brings much relief to many businesses including restaurants and fitness studios. She thanks everyone for doing their part, and adds council will begin to meet in person in September.
