Update: The OPP says the 401 has reopened.
There’s been a fatality on the 401 Westbound. Just before 5:00 p.m. Thursday a westbound vehicle collided with a westbound tractor-trailer on the 401. It happened in South Dundas Township between Dickinson Road and Upper Canada Road.
The passenger is dead, and a second passenger is in the hospital with serious injuries, but the driver has non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the tractor-trailer was not hurt.
A section of Highway 401 is closed to traffic with indicated detours in place.
The 401 is closed at the Ingleside exit to Upper Canada Road westbound. The time for reopening is unknown as officers investigate.
