Police seize illegal drugs near Brockville

Update: Police say they seized more illegal drugs at around 6:00am yesterday.

OPP say members of the Street Crime Unit, assisted by the OPP Emergency Response Team, executed a search warrant at home on the 6th Line of Elizabethtown-Kitley Township. One person was arrested at the home, while two others were arrested in a vehicle in the area a short time later.

Police seized a quantity of crystal methamphetamine, Canadian currency and a cell phone.

A 31-year-old from Prescott has been charged with assault a Peace Officer, flight from Peace Officer, dangerous operation and fail to comply with recognizance.

OPP also say a 37-year-old of Elizabethtown-Kitley Township has been charged with Obstruct Peace Officer, possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 and fail to comply with recognizance.

Both people have been held in custody and have a bail hearing scheduled for today.

Another 37-year-old of Elizabethtown-Kitley Township has been charged under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act with possession of a Schedule 1 substance and has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear at Brockville Court in July, according to police.

The OPP East Region Community Street Crime Unit has seized illegal drugs in Elizabethtown-Kitley Township, east of Brockville.

Police say following a joint investigation with the Brockville City Police, members of the Street Crime Unit, assisted by the OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit, executed a search warrant at a motel room on County Road 2 shortly after 6:00pm on May 26th.

A quantity of suspected methamphetamine, crystal methamphetamine, cocaine, crack cocaine and heroin, as well as an airsoft imitation handgun, Canadian currency, cell phones and other items associated with drug trafficking was seized, according to the OPP.

Seven people were arrested at the location. Four were released unconditionally.

Police say a 39-year-old and 26-year-old from Brockville have been charged with possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime under $5000. The 26-year-old faces an additional charge of failure to comply with a release order.

OPP say they were released following a bail hearing and are scheduled to appear at Brockville Court in June.

A 34-year-old from Brudnell-Lyndoch-Raglan Township has been charged under the possession of a Schedule 1 substance. The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear at Brockville Court in August.
