Charges laid at open salon

The Leeds, Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit say charges have been laid at an open salon.

The health unit says on Friday, a public health inspector, with bylaw enforcement, laid charges at a salon that was open and providing services.

The health unit reminds all personal services settings that the state of emergency orders are still in place and personal service settings have not been permitted to operate during this phase of reopening Ontario.

They also say only businesses that have been placed on the essential services list and granted permission to open by the premier of Ontario are permitted to open. Failure to comply with these orders carries a fine of $750.00 plus applicable fees, according to the health unit.

A list of essential workplaces can be found here.
