House of Lazarus Drop-Off Depot now open

The House of Lazarus (HOL) in Mountain has opened their Drop-off Depot.

HOL says the drop-off is now accepting donations of household goods and clothing but is unable to accept furniture as there will not be enough storage
space to safely house these types of large donations.

HOL management is asking the public to be patient, as staff will do their best to accommodate everyone. They say the Morrisburg Lion’s has donated two large tents that will keep donations dry until they are sorted. Drop-off times will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

The HOL’s Mountain Treasures store will be reopening on Monday, June 1st at 10a.m. HOL Boutique will remain closed but there will be a clothing tent set up on the property. Starting June 2nd, the store hours will be 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Saturday with Thursdays staying open until 8 p.m.

HOL Executive Director Cathy Ashby says they will be following the health unit’s COVID-19 regulations on opening.

“We will be limiting the number of people in the store to meet the social distancing requirements and we will have a sanitization station, as well.”

The mission’s food bank hours will return to their pre-pandemic schedule on June 1st as well, which means the food bank will be open from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday with Thursdays staying open from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m.

HOL says as the food bank is not large enough to accommodate social distancing regulations, they will still provide pre-packaged food hampers. Also, The CRA Income Tax outreach program and the food bank’s Birthday Club is still running.

The HOL is located at 2245 Simms Street in Mountain and can be reached at 613-989-3830.
