Roads in Ferguson Forest Centre temporarily closed to public vehicles

The Ferguson Forest Centre roads are now temporarily closed to public vehicles.

According to a media release the Municipality of North Grenville in collaboration with the Ferguson Forest Centre decided to close the roads, including Veterans Way, Anniversary Way and Honour Way.

The release says there has been more vehicle traffic at the centre which creates challenges for the tree farm operations and concerns for safety of workers to maintain physical distance.

Barriers and signs have been put in place at the road access points on County Roads 44 and 43. The release says private landowners, tree farm employees and Municipal and emergency services are exempt.

The public can still walk and cycle on the trails and roads as long as physical distance is maintained. Parking for trail access can be found on the trailhead lots along County Road 44 and at the North Grenville Municipal Centre.

The Ferguson Tree Nursery is still operational right now as the Ontario Provincial orders have declared tree farms an essential service.

The Municipality is asking the public to respect the road closures and not drive vehicles in the Ferguson Forest Centre at this time.
