Connect Youth opening office in Kemptville

Connect Youth is expanding its presence in Grenville County. The youth-based organization is opening up a second office in Kemptville.

Program Manager Victoria Robertson says Connect Youth received funding to hire a youth navigator, who will work out of North Grenville.

She noted the dollars are through Wellness Access for Youth (WAY), formerly known as the mental health hub for children and youth.

Robertson explained the goal is to reduce barriers for youth and connect them with services.

The new office space, located at 294 County Road 44, will open sometime in the spring.

Robertson says the space was an in-kind donation from the owner of JT Auto Parts. She noted Connect Youth is already on the ground in North Grenville, building connections through the local high school and library, to get the word out about services available locally.

Robertson explained that North Grenville has been an area of interest for Connect Youth since it opened a temporary shelter for homeless youth in Kemptville three years ago.

She says getting to know the community and working with youth locally has demonstrated the need for a more visible presence. Robertson noted Connect Youth is passionate about helping youth throughout Grenville – north and south.
