The Ontario English Catholic Teachers’ Association (OECTA) is planning another one-day walkout. The strike is set for Thursday.Â
Teachers in publicly funded Catholic district school boards across the province will not be reporting to work or performing any of their duties.Â
The Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario will be impacted. The board says all its elementary and secondary schools will be closed. Parents and guardians are encouraged to have alternative childcare plans in place.
The OECTA suspended rotating strikes last week as it headed back to the bargaining table with the province. The union says the government continued to insist on its deep, permanent cuts and no agreement was reached.Â
