Man dies after colliding with stationary transport on 401

The OPP is investigating a fatal motor vehicle collision.

Officers responded to reports of a crash involving a car and transport truck yesterday around 6:45pm. The collision occurred at the westbound on-ramp of Highway 401 from Mallorytown.

The driver of the car was observed entering the 401 before striking the rear of a transport truck that was stationary on the shoulder of the road, according to police.

Brady Scrivener, 27, of Lyn was the lone occupant. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The transport truck driver was not injured.

The OPP continues to investigate, with the assistance of the OPP Traffic Collision Investigators and a Collision Reconstructionist. A partial highway closure was lifted just after 1:00am.
