Kemptville Animal Hospital donates $695 to food bank

The North Grenville Community Service Council (NGCSC) got a boost from the Kemptville Animal Hospital. The vet’s office raised $695 for the charity through its annual Trims for Tins initiative.

All proceeds from animal nail trims throughout the month of December went to the NGCSC, which supports the Knights of Columbus Food Bank. The cheque presentation was held today.

Grand Knight Mike Blais says the food bank, located at Holy Cross Catholic Church, is open to everyone in the community. He noted between 80 and 90 families access the food bank regularly and the money will be used to restock the shelves.

Blais explained the NGCSC and Knights put together 91 Christmas hampers last month, which included three to four weeks worth of food and gifts for the kids in each family.

He says North Grenville is a very compassionate and generous community.

The Kemptville Animal Hospital started Trims for Tins in 2012.
