Fatal crash on 43 at Boundary Road

UPDATE 2: The OPP has released the name of the driver involved in the crash. The OPP says 40-year-old Dale Armstrong of Augusta Township was pronounced dead at the scene.

UPDATE: County Road 43 is now open. 

OPP officers are on scene at a fatal crash. The collision took place on County Road 43, at Boundary Road, around 5:30am. The OPP says a vehicle travelling westbound on 43 slid off the road and struck a tree. 

The adult driver, who was alone in the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene. 

The OPP continues to investigate, with assistance from the OPP Traffic Collision Investigators. The name of the driver is being withheld until family members can be notified. 

Detours are in place at South Gower Drive and Boundary Road.
