Cahl Pominville wins North Grenville Service Excellence Award

One of the longest serving municipal employees was recognized for his years of dedication. Cahl Pominville was presented the second annual North Grenville Service Excellence Award last night.

Pominville has nearly 30 years in municipal government under his belt. He worked as clerk-treasurer for the Township of Oxford-on-Rideau and accounts clerk for the Town of Kemptville prior to amalgamation. Pominville also served as a councillor in Kemptville from 1988 to 91.

He has been the clerk for the Municipality of North Grenville since its inception in 1998.

Acting CAO and Director of Public Works, Karen Dunlop, says she has served alongside Pominville for almost 25 years. She noted his dedication is not only to his municipal responsibilities, but also his community of North Grenville where he was born and raised.

Dunlop explained he has married many local couples, including one of her own children.

She says Pominville always goes above and beyond and helps out any department when they need it.

Pominville was set to retire at the end of this month, but has agreed to stay until his replacement is hired and trained.

He thanked members of the senior management team for the recognition.
