Kemptville & District Home Support is growing its programming for seniors. The Seniors’ Centre is launching Yak & Yarn this week. It runs from 1:30 to 3:30pm every Friday. Local seniors are welcome to drop by.
Jennifer Graham, program and client services coordinator, says people can knit, crochet or sew, depending on preference. She noted it’s a relaxing place to come finish ongoing projects or start new ones.
Participants can bring their own materials to work with or access supplies through the Seniors’ Centre. Donations of yarn, thread and needles for the program are being accepted.
Graham explained it’s important to promote social activities for seniors. She says it brings people together to share ideas.
For more information, call 613-258-3203 or drop by the Seniors’ Centre at 215 Sanders Street.
