Two local youth were recognized for their contributions to the community. The North Grenville Police Services Board (NGPSB) handed out Citizenship Awards on Friday.
Sisters Lily and Jade were the recipients of the semi-annual awards. The NGPSB is working with the Kemptville Youth Centre (KYC) to recognize youth who demonstrate a positive attitude and respect for others.
KYC Operations Manager Barb Tobin says Lily and Jade are go-getters. She noted they participated in all KYC fundraising events this past summer.
Tobin explained the sisters are very helpful and consistent when it comes to volunteering. She says they have unique personalities and use the centre in different ways, but it’s nice to see they both have that initiative and don’t have to be asked twice.
The NGPSB is slated to hand out awards again in the spring.
