Robert Noseworthy raises $6,400 for cancer research

A local man took part in The Ride for the Ottawa Hospital Foundation. Robert Noseworthy, along with his daughter Julianne, raised $6,400 for cancer research. The Ride was held on Sunday at Tunney’s Pasture. The duo cycled 109 kilometers.

Noseworthy says he knows all too well the importance of cancer research. He was diagnosed with leukemia in 1988 and given 6 months to live. Over three decades later, he’s living proof that research makes a difference.

Noseworthy says his daughter was two at the time and his son just 5-months. He noted there’s no better reason to live than to see your kids growing and that’s what kept him going through the difficult times.

Noseworthy was diagnosed with cell carcinoma 15 years after his first bout with cancer. He had a tumour in his arm, which was removed.

Noseworthy has participated in The Ride for the past 6 years, bringing in around $20,000.

He explained it wouldn’t be possible without generous donors, who donate year after year.
