Open call to audition for Matilda

The Kemptville Youth Musical Theatre Company (KYMTC) is holding auditions for Matilda The Musical. Online applications are now open. Youth between grades 7 and 12 are welcome to try out. Auditions are set for October 2 to 5. 

Artistic Director Barb Lacelle says Matilda is a fantastic story about bullying, standing up for yourself and doing what’s right. She noted its relevant in this day and age because bullying is prevalent. 

There are around 40 roles to fill. Rehearsals start mid-October and performances kick off in April. 

Lacelle says it’s free for anyone who wants to participate. She explained it’s audition based, so getting a role isn’t guaranteed.
