The Kemptville Youth Musical Theatre Company (KYMTC) is hitting the stage. Local youth are performing Disney’s Mulan Jr. Shows are set for Friday at 7:00pm, Saturday at 2:00pm and Sunday at 2:00pm at the North Grenville Municipal Centre. There is no cost to attend, but donations are welcome.
Artistic Director Kathleen Konopka says the production differs from the movie. She noted there are certain aspects that would be difficult to achieve on stage, such as having a cricket as a main character.Â
A total of 25 youth, between the ages of 7 and 14, are performing. They started working on the production at the end of July.
Konopka says the kids have been working really hard for the past four weeks. She explained if people are interested in attending, it’s a good idea to arrive early. Konopka noted there’s only room for about 300 people.
