Final Community Barbecue happening Thursday

This is your last chance to grab a bite for good. The 19th season of Community Barbecues wraps on Thursday. The event runs from 11:30am to 1:00pm at the North Grenville Municipal Centre. 

Community Safety Officer Annie Collins says it’s been a successful year so far, with nearly $5,000 raised for local charities. She noted Community Living North Grenville, Friends of the North Grenville Public Library, Easter Seals, Friends of the Ferguson Forest Centre and the Kemptville Youth Centre have all benefited.

This week’s barbecue is sponsored by Rush Truck Centres in support of People First North Grenville. People can grab a burger, hot dog and drink for $5.

Collins says she’s overwhelmed by the generosity, not only from community members, but also local businesses that provided the support to allow all proceeds to go to the charities.
