Beach volleyball tournament in support of Ryan’s Well happening this weekend

You can help bump up Ryan’s Well funds this weekend.

A beach volleyball tournament will be happening at Britannia Beach with 100-percent of proceeds going to the organization that has projects all over the world. The tournament will be on Sunday (July 28th) from 11:30 to 4:30 that day. Executive Director Ryan Hreljac says there is still time to register. It is $20 per player to register and people can sign up as an individual or a team of six to eight. Hreljac says players can sign up by tomorrow night.

“This is the third annual one, so the last time we did this we had nine teams. We’re looking at about the same as that. We’re going to have great prizes (like) gift certificates to Jack Astors, Booster Juice and Tim Hortons. We’ll have popular fan addition such as the Freezie Bowl and the tug of war competition and it should be a big day of fun.”

Hreljac says the Freezie Bowl is for teams who are eliminated before the championships and play for freezies.

Last year’s tournament brought in over a thousand dollars and they’re looking to do the same this year, according to Hreljac.

People looking to sign up for the tournament can register through the Ryan’s Well website here.
