KYC building renamed Rotary Rolston Hall

The Kemptville Youth Centre held a dedication ceremony last night. The building that houses the organization will now be known as Rotary Rolston Hall, in honour of Keith Rolston. A plaque, featuring Rolston’s photo, was unveiled at the entrance.

Rolston, who passed away in 2013, left a bequest of $50,000 to the Rotary Club of Kemptville.

President Nancy Miller-McKenzie says the Rotary Club came up with some ideas for the money. She noted one idea was to help the KYC pay down its mortgage. Miller-McKenzie says that was the club’s choice and members are very happy to make it happen.

Rolston was a naval veteran, who served on board HMCS Assiniboine during the Battle of the Atlantic. He was also a long serving member of the Rotary Club.

Miller-McKenzie says if you ever sat down with Keith, he would regale you with stories. She explained that he was also a businessman, who gave generously to his community and even in his later years, Keith was always a giver.
