Kemptville Canada Day organizers looking for volunteers

Plans for Canada Day in Kemptville are underway and organizers are looking for more volunteers and sponsors.

Kemptville and District Community Association Vice President Samantha Rivet-Stevenson says they’ve partnered with the municipality to put on the event at Riverside Park.

Rivet-Stevenson says they are looking to do an old school Canada Day with activities like three-legged races, fireworks craft, dunk tank and adopt-a-stuffy. There will be a kids-zone, children’s entertainer and bands performing. The rotary parade will be at 4pm with the theme “Celebrating Canada: Our Home.” There will be fireworks at the end of the day.

Rivet-Stevenson says someone is needed to be with the dunk tank that day. People with Smart Serve, first aid certification and just to be in different areas of the event are also needed. Anyone who would like to volunteer can contact Rivet-Stevenson at 613-816-9697 or by emailing at [email protected].
