Plant and Bake Sale to Support Local School

Money from a plant and bake sale will help grow new playgrounds at South Branch Elementary School.

Organizer Sami Kutowy says proceeds from the 21st annual sale will be put into the playground revitalization fund. The sale is this Saturday from nine to noon, rain or shine. The plant sale will be outside and the bake sale is inside.

Kutowy says every year they bring in close to $3,000. The last few years have brought in one thousand dollars just from tickets to the raffles. Tickets are on sale this week and cost one dollar each. The school’s spring concert is on Thursday and tickets can be purchased there as well.

Tax receipts are available for anyone who makes a donation over $25. Anyone who would like to give a plant donation can drop it off at the school’s front door anytime. If someone wants to donate baked goods they can drop it off at the office on Friday, before 3:30 in the afternoon, with their name and listed as nut free.

The school is located at 2649 Concession Road in Kemptville.
