SEATS for Kids is coming to Kemptville. The Ontario Parenting Connection (OPC) is hosting a free car seat clinic on April 27. The event is being held at Canadian Tire from 9:00am to 12:00 noon. Registration opens Friday at 8:00am. Walk-ins will be accommodated as time allows.

Organizer Sami Kutowy says the OPC is covering the cost because the organization feels it’s important for everyone to get their car seats inspected. She says the goal is to break down financial barriers for essential services.

Canadian Tire is sponsoring by donating the space. The plan is to host another clinic in October.

Kutowy says SEATS for Kids has found that 90 per cent of car seats are improperly installed. She says a properly installed car seat can reduce the risk of serious injury or death by 71 per cent.
