100-year-old Canadian novel "Maria Chapdelaine" celebrated at library

Tonight, retired English professor Dr. Michael Gnarowski reviews “Maria Chapdelaine” a definitive Canadian novel first serialized in 1914. Gnarowski will bring a fresh perspective to young Maria Chapdelaine’s search for the right marriage in the insular world of Quebec’s Lac-St-Jean region at the turn of the 20th century. The presentation and discussion happens Oct. 23 at 7pm at the North Grenville Public Library.
