Big Sky Ranch Animal Sanctuary got a boost from a local business. Canadian Tire in Kemptville raised $1,656 for the local shelter. The cheque presentation was held Friday.
Canadian Tire raffled off items to bring in the dollars. Fundraising has been ongoing since February.
Owner Frank Hoffman says everyone at the store loves animals and when customers found out the money would be going to Big Sky, everyone chipped in.
The no-kill shelter has been in operation for 16 years and helped over 3,100 animals. There are currently about 120 animals at Big Sky Ranch.
Founder Andy Parent says every penny helps and Canadian Tire is a fantastic supporter. He says the business is like part of the family.
