Local rescue holding adoption event, recruiting fosters

Six cats will be at the Kemptville Pet Valu looking for homes on Saturday. The Spencerville and Area TNR Stray Cats Project is holding an adoption event from 10:00am to 3:00pm. The adoption fee is $175.

Founder Cindy Cere says the fee helps cover veterinary costs, including vaccinations, deworming, defleaing and neutering.

The local rescue has about 45 cats right now. Cere says volunteers are currently working on trapping strays in Cardinal. She says there are several colonies that are ballooning out of control.

Cere says more volunteers are needed to help trap and foster cats. She says people interested in fostering need to be able to drive the cats to veterinary appointments and adoption events.
