Special Weather Statement Issued for Snow and Bitter Temperatures

More snow and cold temperatures are expected this weekend.

Environment Canada issued the special weather statement and say periods of snow associated with a major winter storm will begin tomorrow afternoon and taper off Sunday morning. They add near 15 centimetres of snowfall is possible near the St. Lawrence River and between five to 10 centimetres 40 kilometres north of Highway 401. People are reminded highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery.

Environment Canada also says bitterly cold temperatures in the minus 25 to minus 35 range will begin tomorrow and continue into Monday morning.
