Storm Girls update council about Good Deeds Cup

Kemptville Storm peewee house team delivered a deputation to North Grenville Council. The presentation was held Monday night. Players provided an update about the Chevrolet Good Deeds Cup.

The team entered the competition for a chance to win $100,000 to donate to the charity of its choice. Players participated in various good deeds in the community since entering.

Chloe Finner says one of the good deeds was going to the Legion to write messages on Christmas cards to send to troops overseas who couldn’t come home for the holidays.

Other good deeds include taking part in the Santa Shuffle and manning Kettles, both in support of the Salvation Army. The Storm girls also helped out with the 97.5 Juice FM Radiothon and sang Christmas carols to seniors at Bayfield Manor.

Finner says the ultimate good deed would be getting the money to donate. She says the team is currently considering CHEO.

The team is waiting to hear if it made the top 10 for the Good Deeds Cup. Voting will commence if they make the cut. To check out the team’s video submission, click here.
