UPDATE: Due to unforeseen circumstances, Mainstreet Restaurant is postponing the first Village Chef event set for tomorrow. The first event will now take place on January 30.
ORIGINAL STORY: Mainstreet Restaurant is launching its 9th season of The Village Chef. The first event is set for Wednesday, beginning at 6:00pm. The celebrity chef is Mayor Doug Struthers and proceeds will go to the Smiths Falls Hospital Foundation.
Manager Terri Graham says its just something Mainstreet has always done. She says community support is a two-way street.
Events happen every two weeks, ending March 13. Hilltop Manor, the Merrickville Food Cupboard and Kayak for Cancer will also benefit. Tickets are $45 each for the dinner.
Graham says you can buy tickets directly from Mainstreet by stopping by or calling to reserve a spot. She says season passes for The Village Chef are also available at a discounted price.
