Johnstown ATV Club donates to Connect Youth

Connect Youth got a helping hand from the Johnstown ATV Club. The group donated $200 yesterday.

Program Manager Victoria Robertson says the dollars may be used for an outing during March Break or the homeless program.

The money was raised through charity ATV rides. The club’s next ride is set for June 23.

Robertson says Connect Youth relies on community donations. The organization runs two shelters for homeless youth between the ages of 16 and 21.

She says the shelters, located in Prescott and North Grenville, are funded by the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville. Connect Youth provides the case management.

In the past five months, Connect Youth has helped 39 homeless youth in the area. The organization serves between 25 and 30 youth daily through its in-school program at South Grenville District High School.
