Chesterville resident Petrina Carnochan has won the $20,000 Smile Give Away. The contest is run by Yazdani Family Dentistry. The winner was announced in December.
Carnochan’s daughter Samantha put her name forward for the contest. She only found out about it when Yazdani staff reached out for a final interview.
Carnochan says the whole staff knew she had won and when she came out of the room, they handed her balloons and offered congratulations.
Work will begin on Carnochan’s smile in the coming weeks.
She says her teeth need lots of work. Carnochan says people have always commented that she is grumpy because she holds back her smile. She says it’s like a dream being offered a chance to smile again.
