Kemptville 73’s appoint new head coach

Scott Dexter has been appointed the new interim head coach of the Kemptville 73’s. Outgoing head coach Jeff Jordon will focus on the midget team and coaching Team Ontario in February. Owner Jason York will continue to serve as assistant coach, along with Brian Richardson.

York says the team needed to make a change to freshen things up. He says the 73’s needed to keep Jordon in the organization because he’s a great coach.

The team is also missing a few of its top players, including John Beaton who is away playing with Team Canada, and Jesse Dick who was called up to the Ottawa 67’s.

York says the team got off to a really good start this season. He says the team is struggling a bit because it’s still in the rebuild stage.

The team is in 9th place currently. Only the top eight teams compete in the CCHL playoffs. The 73’s face off against Nepean on home ice this Friday.
