Council asks public for input on cannabis retail stores

North Grenville Council wants to know how people feel about cannabis retail stores in the community. The municipality launched a survey to gather input from the public.

People can access the survey online by clicking here or pick-up paper copies from the municipal centre or library.

Council has until January 22 to decide whether to allow cannabis retail stores. Cannabis was legalized on October 17 and Ontario is allowing privately owned retail cannabis outlets.

Legal marijuana can only be purchased through the online Ontario Cannabis Store currently.

Each retail store must be at least 150 metres from a school and only operate between the hours of 9:00am and 11:00pm. Retail stores are expected to start popping up in April.
