KPS donates trailer load of food, toys to HOL

Christmas programs at the House of Lazarus (HOL) got a boost from a local school. The students and staff at Kemptville Public School collected food and toys for the organization. The trailer load worth of donations was picked up Monday.

Client Services Coordinator Kim Merkley says a staff member was sent to Kemptville for three pickups that day. She says trailer had to be unloaded after the first stop because KPS gave so much.

The toys and food will go into Christmas hampers for food bank clients. Over 125 families, individuals, couples and seniors were adopted out through the HOL this year.

Merkley says the need is growing. She says the food bank served eight new families last month alone and the increasing costs of everything is not going to help.

The HOL Food Bank serves people from North Grenville, South Grenville, North Dundas and South Dundas. For more information about the HOL, click here.
