The Kemptville District Hospital (KDH) has a new family room. It opened last month. The room offers a place for family members of patients to talk in private and meet with doctors.
The money to build the family room came from the Newans family. Jean Newans made the substantial donation in memory of her husband Keith, who passed away at the KDH.
Community Engagement Manager Mary Boucher says it’s a gorgeous space. She says the hospital’s operations manager selected the furniture and the design was done by Kemptville Interiors.
The room is located on the upper level of the hospital near the long-term care unit.
Boucher says Jean was thrilled when she saw the room.
