Fundraising efforts continue for a local family who watched their home burn to the ground last month. Julianna and Chris Melnick-MacDonald, both Kemptville business owners, along with their two young daughters were displaced by the fire.
A recent online auction brought in over $4,800 for the family. It ran from October 28 to November 4. Community members and businesses donated about 100 items towards the auction. Â
Organizer Heather Black says the family is overwhelmed by support from the community.
The family found a place to rent while they wait for their house to be rebuilt.
Black says she is eternally grateful for everyone’s help with the auction. Â
A GoFundMe crowdfunding campaign has brought in over $8,000 for the family, who lost everything in the fire.
