Local service providers come together to highlight domestic violence

The Grenville County OPP partnered with Victim Services of Leeds and Grenville and Interval House to host a one-day workshop on domestic violence.

The workshop was held on Wednesday at Roebuck Hall. Close to 100 participants gained further insight into what victims of domestic violence experience.

Guest speaker Pamela Cross, a feminist lawyer, talked about violence against women and the law. Representatives from the OPP, Victims Services, the Crown Attorney’s Office, Interval House, Family and Children’s Services and the Assault Response and Care Centre also presented.

November is National Domestic Violence Awareness month.

Funding for the workshop came from the North Grenville, Town of Prescott, Augusta Township and Merrickville-Wolford Police Services Boards.
