Michelle Taylor focuses on living wage, making services accessible

NDP candidate Michelle Taylor is running for MP in Leeds-Grenville-Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes. The seat has been vacant since the death of Gord Brown in May. The federal by-election is set for December 3.

Taylor says the biggest issues facing residents are cost of living, affordable housing and access to services. She says climate change is another major issue for the riding.

Taylor says she is focused on living wage. She says the NDP is pushing to get the Basic Income Project reinstated federally. She says a large percentage of people in the riding are not making a living wage and have to rely on social safety nets. Taylor says her goal will be to create a stable base for people.

Taylor says she will be a strong voice for the riding. She says you can make a difference if you keep standing up for what you believe in.

Taylor says it’s important for people to be engaged in the process and make candidates work for your vote.

The My Kemptville Now newsroom is interviewing all four federal candidates this week. The other candidates are Mary Jean McFall (Liberal), Lorraine Rekmans (Green) and Michael Barrett (Conservative).
