Former Ottawa Sens players coming to Outdoor Rink fundraiser

A Sens Gala will bring in dollars for the North Grenville Outdoor Rink project. The event is set for November 23 at the New Rideau Restaurant. It kicks off at 6:30pm.

Organizer Tanys Mosher says there will be special guests. Former Ottawa Senators players Chris Phillips and Chris Neil are coming to the gala.

Tickets are $100 each and proceeds will go to the outdoor rink being built at Southgate Church. Phase one of the project is expected to cost about $300,000. The rink will be free to use for the whole community. The gala includes a buffet dinner and silent auction.

Mosher says there are great items up for grabs through the auction, including a signed Chris Wideman jersey, four Club Bell tickets for a game in January and free coffee for a year from Starbucks. Jonsson’s Independent donated a hockey themed picnic table, barbecue and patio set towards the auction.

Charitable tax receipts are available for a portion of the ticket price and all donations. The goal is to raise $30,000. To purchase tickets, click here.
