Local kid wins big at Upper Canada Cup Cross-Country Championships

More than 1,200 students from the Upper Canada District School Board competed in the Cross-Country Championships. The event was held on Tuesday in Brockville.

Thousand Islands Secondary School won the banner for the top intermediate team. Thousand Islands Elementary School took the junior team title.

Co-convener Adam Cross says it’s a great event because it gets kids moving. He says it gets them physically active and healthy.

Top competitors include Lukas Leroux from Kemptville Public School, who placed first for grade six boys.
