Hospital Foundation holding free Women’s Health & Wellness seminar

Education and awareness is the name of the game for the 3rd annual Women’s Health & Wellness Seminar. The event, set for Thursday next week, is being organized by the Kemptville District Hospital Foundation. The seminar is free and open to the whole community. It is being held at the eQuinelle Golf Club starting at 3:30pm.

Three speakers are donating their time this year to come talk to local women. Tina Cantrill, a Registered Nurse and adult educator, will be discussing resilience.

Executive Director Joanne Mavis says Cantrill was the VP of a major pharmaceutical company, married to a General in the United Kingdom. She found out her husband was a sociopath and had been molesting his daughter. Cantrill quit her job, moved to Canada and started a new life that led to her helping health care professionals who are burnt out.

Judy Mouland, a life coach, is also speaking at the event. Mavis says she helps people with ADHD and learning disabilities, who suffer from anxiety and depression.
