Voting period launches Monday

The 2018 Municipal Election voting period is about to launch. The polls open Monday at 10:00am. People can vote in person, over the phone from anywhere in North America or online from anywhere in the world.

Electors should have received their voter information cards by now. If you do not have your card, contact the clerk’s department directly by calling 613-258-9569 ext. 195.

Clerk Cahl Pominville says he’s already been contacted by a person who will be hiking in the Alps and plans on stopping by an internet cafe to vote.

The Election Help Center will be up and running at the North Grenville Municipal Centre (NGMC) starting Monday. People can drop by in person between 8:30am and 5:00pm and use the touch screen polling station to vote.

Pominville says people should take advantage of voting online and over the phone. He says it’s a great way to do it from the comfort of your home.

Election day is set for October 22. Paper ballot voting will be available at the NGMC until 8:00pm that night. Electors are asked to bring their voter information cards and a piece of ID.

There are approximately 12,000 registered voters in North Grenville.
