The North Grenville Fire Service (NGFS) is hosting a recruitment information night. The event is set for Thursday night next week beginning at 7:00pm.

Deputy Fire Chief Randy Urslak says if you’re looking to become a firefighter in North Grenville, come out to the information session to get all your questions answered. Time commitment, training schedule and number of calls will all be covered.

The NGFS is looking to add between 6 and 8 new volunteer firefighters to its ranks. Urslak says people are encouraged to bring their spouse and kids because when you become a member of the NGFS, your family does too.

The fire service is looking for people who work in the community and can respond to calls during the day.

New recruits are required to pass a physical aptitude test and take a 120-hour training course.

For more details, contact the NGFS directly by calling 613-258-2438. The information night will be held at Station One, located on County Road 44.
