The students at North Grenville District High School (NGDHS) crushed their goal of raising $2,000 for the Terry Fox Foundation. Money is still trickling in, but the total is sitting at $3,300. The events, held September 19 and 20, were organized by the Recreation Leadership Class.
Teacher Cathy Parents says the students decided to do something different this year and organize their own version of The Colour Run. Kids who participated were covered in coloured powdered chalk.
This year’s total is the third highest in the past 15 years for NGDHS. Parent says the Terry Fox Foundation is a great cause because the dollars go directly to cancer research.
Teachers and students alike committed to things like cutting their hair or wearing a dinosaur costume for the day if the goal was reached.
