The Ryan’s Well Foundation is launching a school challenge. The goal is to bring together schools and youth groups to raise $36,979.
Founder Ryan Hreljac says the money will be used to improve access to clean water for communities in Northern Uganda. He says the work will be done while the schools raise funds, so students will get real-time updates.
The foundation has been doing school challenges for the past 10 years. Hreljac says this year the focus will be on keeping girls in school by providing sanitation facilities.

Last year, the school challenge provided 2,000 people in Kenya with access to potable water through the construction of 24 household community tanks and rainwater harvesting tanks at 3 schools.
