Celebrity Breakfast to bring in dollars for Kemptville Youth Centre

The annual Kemptville Youth Centre (KYC) Celebrity Breakfast aims to raise enough money to cover off insurance costs. The event is set for this Saturday at the Kemptville Christian Reformed Church. It kicks off at 8:00am and runs until 11:00am.

Event Chair Bruce Wehlau says this year’s celebrities include local MPP and Minister of Municipal Affairs Steve Clark, two local mayors, Canadian Tire owner Frank Hoffman and others. The celebrities will be serving the breakfast.

The cost is $14 for adults and $7 for kids age 5 and under. The breakfast is all-you-can-eat and  every dollar goes to the KYC thanks to sponsorship from local businesses. Last year’s breakfast brought in $6,000 for the KYC.

Wehlau says over 1,000 kids come through the organization’s door every year. He says between 12 and 20 local youth access the KYC every day. The drop-in centre serves youth age 12 to 18. For more details about the KYC, click here.
