Nominations open for Bill Thake Memorial Award

The United Counties of Leeds and Grenville is looking for community leaders. Nominations are open for the Bill Thake Memorial Award. Economic Development Officer Deanna Clark says the award recognizes volunteers who have shown outstanding commitment and leadership resulting in the growth of the Leeds Grenville economy.

Nominations are being accepted until September 28. The award will be handed out at the 10th annual Leeds Grenville Economic Development Summit on November 16. The ceremony will be held at the North Grenville Municipal Centre.

Clark says the award launched in 2011 and was named after Bill Thake, who was the County Warden at the time. She says Thake focused on improving his community and Leeds Grenville throughout his lengthy political career.

To nominate someone, contact Clark directly by calling (613)-342-3840 ext. 5360. To find out more about the award and nomination process, click here.
