Tornado warnings lifted for the area

The tornado warnings across the region have now been lifted. A tornado warning was issued earlier for Smiths Falls, Perth, Lanark County, Richmond, Ottawa South, Metcalfe and Winchester. The warning has now been downgraded to severe thunderstorms.

Meteorologists are tracking a line of severe thunderstorms capable of producing very strong wind gusts, up to nickel size hail and heavy rain.
