Local boy organizes fundraiser for Sunshine Foundation

William Stenhouse has a dream – to make another child’s dream come true. The 12-year-old Kemptville resident is running a fundraiser on Saturday to bring in dollars for the Sunshine Foundation of Canada. The foundation grants wishes to children with terminal illnesses and disabilities. The organization gets no government funding and is entirely donation driven. William’s mom, Jennifer Stenhouse, says her sister was granted a wish.

Her sister has cerebral palsy, which makes travel of any kind difficult. Stenhouse talked about the foundation with William and he decided to host the fundraiser, which is being held at 80 Settler’s Way. Stenhouse says William will be selling handmade goods and other items.

There will also be cupcakes up for grabs at the event, which runs from 10:00am to 2:00pm. For more details, check out the One Wish at a Time event page on Facebook. To learn more about the Sunshine Foundation of Canada, click here.
